LONDON (Alliance News) – Gama Aviation LLC said on Monday that its Wheel Up flight operations completed its 100,000th flight segment earlier this month.
Gama Aviation is the exclusive operator of the Wheels Up King Air 350i and Citation Excel / XLS programme that allows its members access to a private fleet of Citation Excel/XLS aircraft. A flight segment refers to portions of itinerary where aircraft’s can land in multiple cities.
Over the US Independence Day weekend, Gama Aviation completed over 400 member flights for Wheels Up, including record-breaking numbers on July 1 when more than 100 passengers were flown from JacksonVille, Florida, to Nashville, Tennessee.
Shares in Gama Aviation were trading up 0.2% at 244.0 pence on Monday.
“I’m extremely proud of reaching this milestone. Four years ago, Wheels Up was an idea, a PowerPoint presentation and a spreadsheet, now flight operations for Wheels Up have the same scale as a regional airline, rapidly approaching 6,000 flight sectors per month with the continual drive to democratize private aviation,” said CEO and President Thomas Connelly.
