LONDON (Alliance News) – NewRiver Real Estate Investment Trust PLC announced on Monday it has appointed Margaret Ford, Baroness of Cunninghame as a senior independent non-executive director from September 1.
She will also be appointed to the board’s audit, remuneration and nomination committees.
London-listed NewRiver said Ford, who is a crossbench peer, has over 20 years’ experience as a non-executive director and chairman of private and listed companies and experience of working with the UK government.
Ford is currently chairman of STV Group PLC, a senior independent non-executive director of Segro PLC, chairman of the UK Tennis Foundation and national president of the British Epilepsy Association.
Previously, she was a non-executive director of Taylor Wimpey PLC and the former chairman of Grainger PLC and May Gurney Integrated Services PLC.
From 2002 to 2008, she was chairman of English Partnerships and from 2009 to 2012, she was a member of the Olympic board and chairman of the Olympic Park Legacy Company.
“Margaret has a wealth of experience operating in senior roles in real estate and across a number of other sectors which I am confident will be of significant benefit to NewRiver as the business continues to grow,” Chairman Paul Roy said.
Shares in NewRiver were up 0.4% at 347.40 pence on Monday afternoon.
